Worried about not being able to keep up?

You’re not alone. Whether you walk or run, there are other people just like you. People who share your fitness level and your dreams. At the Lopers Club we call this a Pace Group.

A pace group allows members of similar fitness levels to train together. Your group members are there to share the journey with you. Like a Sunday morning family, your pace group will help encourage and inspire you to push to new fitness levels.

Each group has an experienced leader who has made a commitment to be here every week, just for you. They have volunteered to support and guide you on your fitness journey.

Many of you have dreams of marathons. Go for it. Stick with the program, lock into your pace leader, and you will get there. We have a number of people who are happy with the thought of a half-marathon. It’s a fantastic goal. And it’s a goal that will put you ahead of what most are willing to do.

We also have some who are here for health and fitness. That’s awesome. You are already doing more than most of the US population is willing to do and you’re just getting started. One of the best choices you can ever make is to do something amazing for you. A good exercise program and a great group of people to share it with every week are both wonderful goals. We hope you’ll be with us for a long time to come.

Whatever your goal the most important things you can do are to have fun and make some new friends. We’re a friendly group so make it a point say hi to someone you haven’t met yet. One of the best ways I know to enjoy a distance run/walk is to share it with friends.

Even if you started with someone you know, make new friends. Ask any experienced Loper. It doesn’t matter who we might have started with. The friends that keep us coming back to Lopers every week were complete strangers to us when we started. Today we can’t imagine our lives without them.

Who else but a fellow Loper will stick with you rain or shine, heat or cold, no matter the distance, no matter the terrain. We’re here for you for the long haul. You’re part of a special group. Thanks for sharing the dream with us.
