Walkers and runners looking to improve marathon and half-marathon times can attend the race walking clinic Sundays from 6 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. in the Drayson Center Gymnasium (Oct. 16, Oct. 23 and Nov. 6) and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Drayson Center Super Track (Nov. 10 through March 30).
During the Sunday clinics, you will receive instruction in basic race walking techniques. On Thursday evenings, you will practice on the half-mile Drayson Center Super Track while being observed and coached. While further perfecting your race-walking technique, get in some homework miles and a good workout.
In the weeks to come, as you become more proficient, we will have timed speed training.
