The on-line

the Lopers Speed Group
is available at http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/loperspeed_news/. The Lopers wish to thank Russ

Lopers members can join the Drayson Center Gym for a significantly reduced cost of $250.00 per year. Membership includes use of pool, weight room, aerobic classes, etc. You can do your cross training at the gym! Check at the Loper desk on Sunday morning to sign up. This offer is good through the Lopers only. The Lopers club was founded in Loma Linda, California, and continues to have a successful program there. The Loma Linda Chapter meets at 6:30 AM on Sundays at Drayson Center, on the campus of the Loma Linda University. On August 1, 2010, we will begin the 2010-2011 Marathon and Half Marathon Clinic at this location.

For the past three years the Lopers Club has also had a
very successful chapter at the California
Citrus State Park
in Riverside. Unfortunately, because of state budget cuts the Citrus
Park can no longer provide the support we need for a high quality
program there. We have been unable to find an alternative suitable
meeting place that is available in time for this year's Clinic opening.
Therefore, we will all be meeting once again as one club
in Loma
Linda until further notice.
We hope to have a suitable meeting place in Riverside before the start
of the 2011-2012 Clinic in the summer of 2011, and we welcome any suggestions you may have
in this regard. The new Arlington Heights Sports Park looks like a good option once it is open. We are committed to continuing our successful program
in Riverside as soon as practical! But in the meantime, Loma Linda is
only 12 freeway miles further to the north, and is well worth the extra
distance for the quality program that we offer!
The Team Lopers Speed Group meets at the Drayson Center track every Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM. This is open to all members. The Lopers wish to thank Russ Barber for leading this group. Russ can be contacted by email at marathoner26.2@sbcglobal.net or by phone at (909) 825-7566. This group is for experienced runners of any speed who want to improve their running times. (If the gate to the track is locked, you can use your Lopers ID to enter the field through the building.) The web site for the Lopers Speed group is at http://runnersmania.com. There is also an on-line discussion group for the Lopers Speed Group, which is available at http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/loperspeed_news/
The Lopers Club has something to offer everyone interested in improving their fitness through walking, jogging, or running. From the slowest beginning walker to the fastest experienced runners, we provide training geared to all fitness levels. We meet each Sunday morning at 6:30 at the Drayson Center on the campus of Loma Linda University and hope to have a suitable meeting place in the city of Riverside sometime during the coming year.
The Lopers Club is one of the largest running and fitness club in Southern California, with over 700 members.
One of the main activities of the Lopers' Club is to train walkers, runners, or joggers to complete their first full 26.2 mile marathon or 13.1 mile half marathon each year. Nearly 100% of the Lopers who enter our training Marathon or Half Marathon finish it! See our clinic announcement page for more information.
We also offer our members the opportunity to train with our Lopers speed group, which meets at the Drayson Center Tuesday night as indicated above. The Lopers speed group is for veteran runners of any speed who wish to improve their running speed.
For further information, see the President's Message, the Welcome Message, or call: (951) 769-8300 and leave message, or email info2@lopersclub.org.
